Borrowing from Other Libraries

MeLCat Visiting Patron Libraries

You can present your current OU ID card to borrow materials from any MeLCat library which participates in the Visiting Patron Service. This service is the in-person reciprocal borrowing feature of MeLCat, a statewide network of Michigan libraries sharing resources with each other.

Before going to another library, check their participant status and their hours of operation.

You may return items borrowed either to the lending library or to Oakland University.

InfoPass Libraries

You need to get an InfoPass at the OU Libraries reference desk before visiting any of the InfoPass libraries. You need to return the materials directly to the lending library.

Other Reciprocal borrowing libraries

We also have arrangements with the following libraries so you can check out materials directly from them. Materials borrowed MUST be returned directly to the lending library.

• Lawrence Technological University
  You'll need OU ID card and a drivers license
  
  
• University of Detroit Mercy
  You'll need OU ID card, drivers license, and proof you are currently enrolled if you are a student (paid bill or current schedule of classes).
  
  
• Walsh College
  You'll need OU ID card, drivers license, and proof you are currently enrolled if you are a student (paid bill or current schedule of classes).
