Special Collections Room Policy

The Special Collections Room in Kresge Library (room 105) houses the Gaylor Collection.

Due to the rare and often irreplaceable nature of the holdings, use of the room is subject to the following rules, which are designed to protect collections while providing the best possible service to readers:

  • The Special Collections Room is open to the public for research every week day 9-11am & 1:30-3:30pm.

  • Books and other items in the Special Collections Room do not circulate. Patrons are free to browse and use the collections in the room.

  • Patrons can also request items ahead of time by filling the online form or contacting the University Archives and Special Collections (248-370-2419 or paquette@oakland.edu).

  • Food and drinks are not allowed in the Special Collections Room.

  • The Special Collections Room is reserved only for the use of materials that are housed in this room. It is not to be used as a reading room for other materials or as a study room.
