Make Your Space Contest Guidelines:

We invite you to Make Your Space! and decorate Kresge Library’s newly-refurbished popular reading area adjoining the Frankie Cafe!  

The winning proposal will receive up to $500 toward materials for the project and be featured on the library’s website and social media.

Submissions may include up to three walls. We encourage participants to view and measure the space themselves, but rough measurements are included here: (Illustrator file) (PDF file)

Submissions for a mural or other permanent art installations will be accepted until:

Friday, December 12 at 11:59PM.  

Entries must include:

• a primary contact person’s name

• summary of qualifications

• email, and phone number contact information

• short written description of the installation planned (150 words or fewer)

• schematic/mockup of the installation in-place

• approximate costs for materials

• projected timeline for the installation process.

Contest guidelines:

• Contest will be open to all members of campus, as individuals or groups.

• Entries must compliment the existing space; furniture and flooring will not be changed.

• Columns may be included in the design, if desired.

• The space for the contest includes: the entry wall for the Frankie Cafe and the two walls adjoining the space.  

• No required theme.
• Winning installation must be completed by May 1, 2014.

Entries will be judged by the Art in the Libraries Committee. Finalists will be expected to present their proposal in-person to the committee in early January, with a winner expected to be announced in late January/early February.
