E-Journal Collections

Access to electronic journals is available through several means. Journals to which the library subscribes in electronic format as well as those for which we have full-text access through indexing/abstracting services (e.g., FirstSearch, InfoTrac), have links from the Voyager Catalog. A journal title search brings up the record and the "Internet link" provides access. In addition, the multi-journal collections and specific titles from associations, publishers, etc. to which Oakland subscribes are listed below.

Full-text/full-image retrieval options are generally available in .pdf file format, which will require the presence of Adobe Acrobat Reader with your browser. If you are having problems viewing PDF files, make sure you have the most current version of Acrobat by downloading it from the Adobe Acrobat Reader site.

Multi-Journal Collections

ACM Digital Library includes journals, magazines and proceedings of the Association for Computing Machinery.
American Chemical Society Journals includes all of the ACS journals from volume one.
American Society of Mechanical Engineers 19 ASME journals from 2000 to present. (You may also want to browse the official American Society of Mechanical Engineers Journal Listing, please note that we do not have access to Applied Mechanics Reviews.)
American Society for Microbiology Journals includes all 11 ASM journals from 1995.
Annual Review Series includes 15 titles from 1996 to present. (You may also want to browse the official Annual Review Series Journal Listing, but be aware Kresge Library only has access to the items indicated with a .)
Blackwell E-Journals package includes all of the journals owned by Blackwell Periodicals as of July 1, 2005. Titles include over 800 journals in most subjects including many from scholarly societies. You can look at a list of all Blackwell journals arranged by subject or an alphabetical list of just the journals available to OU. Journals and articles available to OU are marked with a bright green circle . Issues available are generally from 1997 to the present.
Directory of Open Access Journals This service lists over 1500 free, full-text quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals including over 300 journals searchable at the article level
Duke University Press E-Journals (E-Duke Scholarly Collection) Includes online access to twenty-nine Duke humanities and social science journals. Issues available are from 2000 forward.
Emerald Management Xtra 40 includes 40 journals, primarily in business and management, published by Emerald Press.
History Cooperative a brief collection of history journals from various publishers. (Please note that Kresge Library does not have access to the Western Historical Quarterly.)
IEEE Xplore provides full-text access to transactions, journals, and magazines published since 1998 of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
Institute of Physics Electronic Journals includes back files to Volume 1 of most journals. Please note that OU's subscription does not include Quantitative Finance.
JSTOR is an extensive collection of back issues of scholarly journals.
Kluwer: See Springer-Verlag E-Journals
“Lecture Notes in Mathematics”, Springer-Verlag, includes online access to all the volumes in this series beginning with volume 1750 (mainly volumes published from 2001 forward).
Oxford University Press Journals includes approximately 170 journals. There are a few items in this collection that Kresge Library does not subscribe to (indicated when you attempt to access them).
Project Muse: A collection of more than 300 full-text journals in the humanities published by Johns Hopkins University Press and 50 other university presses and societies.
PsycArticles includes 53 journals published by the American Psychological Association and related organizations. Coverage generally begins with 1985.
Sage Publications: A collection of about 400 full-text journals covering primarily the social sciences.
Science Direct provides access to more than 1500 e-journals published by Elsevier, including the 173 Academic Press titles formerly found through Academic IDEAL. Online access generally is available from 1995 to the present, although Academic Press titles are available back to 1993.
Springer-Verlag E-Journals package now includes approximately 1450 Springer journals (including the former Kluwer titles), primarily in the sciences. To see listings by broad subject click on the Subject listings in the lower right corner of the website. Issues available are generally from 1997 to the present.
Wiley Journals includes more than 250 journals published by Wiley and JosseyBass. Coverage begins with 1997. Titles are predominantly in the sciences with some social sciences and business titles also. Collection does NOT include all journals from Wiley and JosseyBass. (You may also want to browse the official Wiley Journals Listing, but be aware Kresge Library only has access to a small selection of all the titles Wiley publishes.)
