History

The Student Coalition was a student organization that operated in the 1968-1969 academic year to further political and social change in the United States. They circulated a petition demanding the right for students to regulate their own lives on campus outside of academics (“Home Rule Demanded,” Oakland Observer, Sept. 20, 1968), supported women’s rights, and organized debates on campus.
