What is Voyager?

Voyager is a total library automation system which carries out many of the our most essential functions. We order books through Voyager, and when they are received, we use it to catalog them. When you check out a book at the Circulation desk, the Voyager system logs the transaction.

When a volume of periodicals is sent to the bindery, that is shown in Voyager. When you place a hold on an item that someone else has checked out, Voyager does that as well. Finally, to most people, Voyager is the online public access catalog (OPAC) through which they search our collections.

Voyager has direct links to electronic books and journals to which the library subscribes and also serves up items which have been placed on E-reserves for classes. Cataloging, acquisitions, circulation, reserves and public access: all of these essential library activities take place through the Voyager system.
