What does Voyager contain?

Essentially Voyager is a large database full of individual bibliographic records, each of which describes and points to the location of some resource that the library owns. Some kinds of items that are listed in Voyager include:

  • Books
  • Journals, periodicals and other serial publications
  • Government documents
  • Music CDs, and data CD-ROMs
  • Musical scores
  • E-journals and E-books
  • Hard copy and electronic reserve items
  • Items in the collections of the Educational Resource Laboratory (ERL)
  • Videorecordings in the Instructional Technology Center (ITC)

What Voyager does NOT contain:

  • Any items held by libraries outside of Oakland University
  • The Kresge Library web site (www.kl.oakland.edu)
  • Resources linked to from the library web site
  • Any information about specific articles in the journals we carry
  • Databases to which we subscribe
