Archives of Oakland University

Kresge Library's archives are the official depository of materials relating to the history and
development of Oakland University. Some archive materials are now available electronically
through OUR@Oakland, Oakland University's Institutional Repository. Visit the Archives web page

Government Documents

Federal Government Documents collection at Kresge Library consists of both Federal and state
of Michigan publications. Kresge Library is a selective depository for Federal documents. Documents
are located on the first floor in room KL 154.

Special Collections (view collection list)

The library has a number of Special Collections that may be interesting support materials for class
assignments or personal research.

HIGHLIGHTS:

The Gaylor Collection located in the GLBT Literature and Resource Center (KL 106), consists of
almost 3000 titles focusing on gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, or trangendered individuals or lifestyles.

The Jane M. Bingham Collection of Historical Children's Literature
Collection of historic children's books, periodicals, and artifacts arranged in chronological order so
that researchers can actually see how children's books developed over the decades. 

Thesis Collection
Collection of master's and Ph.D. theses that have been written by Oakland University graduate students. 
The over 1000 theses can be found by doing a Subject Search in the library catalog for 'oakland
university dissertations'
. The Library encourages departments to submit copies into this special collection.
