Faculty Overview - Research- Research Support

Faculty Research Support Librarian

The Faculty Research Support Librarian serves as a point person and expert in the Library’s
efforts to help the University meet the challenges of quickly changing modes of faculty
research and communication, including providing guidance on copyright issues (when appropriate),
and working on issues related to open access, authors’ rights, alternative publishing methods.

Research Consultations

RCs are 30-45 minute one-on-one sessions with a librarian who can help develop a research
strategy, identify resources, provide citation tool instruction or assist with a broad range of
individual research needs.

Authors at Oakland

Every year in the spring, since 2005, Kresge Library has hosted the Authors at Oakland event celebrating recent publications by Oakland University faculty. Two authors are chosen by the Senate Library Committee to speak about their scholarship. Celebratations rotate each year between honoring books authors and journal authors. The library encourages book authors to donate a copy of their publication to the library's Faculty Collection located in Special Collections KL 100.
