Industry Classifications

The NAIC and SIC systems are systems for organizing and reporting on economic activity in the US. NAICS has replaced the SIC system and government economic data now uses NAICS to organize data. However, many reference materials still arrange information by SIC code; therefore, you may also need to determine your company's SIC code.

For a more comprehensive discussion of the NAICS system, see the Bureau's NAICS Background page.
