Writing help on campus

Oakland University Writing Center

Located on the second floor of Kresge Library, The Writing Center supports OU’s general education requirements for writing and the university’s commitment to a distinctive undergraduate experience. Initially available for undergraduate students at OU, as it grows, the Writing Center will expand to serve graduate students, faculty, and students and educators in local schools, and area businesses.

Students can work with writing consultants on how to write papers for introductory courses or to get guidance on incorporating research on papers within a major, including citing sources and organizing longer papers. In addition, writing consultants can help students brainstorm about an assignment, work on a draft or assist with any other part of the writing process.

Students can schedule an appointment by calling (248) 370-3120 or e-mailing ouwc@oakland.edu. An online appointment scheduler will be available in the future. Walk-in assistance is also available. Walk-ins are welcome!
