Cataloging

The Cataloging Unit is responsible for organizing and making accessible library materials. It accomplishes this by describing materials, assigning call numbers, performing subject analyses, physically processing material, e.g., labeling, and adding the records for these materials to the online catalog. The Unit catalogs all books, government documents, serial publications, sound recordings as well as other formats. In addition it also has responsibility for the maintenance of the database. Currently the Unit has three copy, and one professional, catalogers.
