JSTOR Update Procedure

JSTOR is an aggregator of the backfiles of journals. Each journal has a "moving wall," meaning that issues outside of the "moving wall" are not a part of the database. The "moving wall" does just that, it moves. Every year in January the issues and volumes, which are a part of JSTOR change. This procedure is the Kresge Library's procedure by which the holdings are updated on the JSTOR records, which reside in the WEBPac.

  1. Open the WEBPac.
  2. Open the Cataloging module.
  3. Search the journal title in the WEBPac.
  4. Search the journal title in the Cataloging module.
  5. In the WEBPac, click on the journal's URL to verify it still works.
  6. Compare the holdings on the journal's home page to the journal's holdings in Voyager.
  7. Correct any non-working URLs.
  8. Update the journal's holdings by adding any necessary volumes and years.
  9. Update the journal's holdings by deleting any necessary volumes and years.
