IN PROCESS Status Procedure

IN PROCESS items are cataloged, but not yet processed. The IN PROCESS status allows patrons to place rush requests on materials with this status. It also signals to library employees that the materials are still in Technical Services.

  1. Editors will set the status on the Voyager item record for new items to IN PROCESS
  2. Editors will check trucks for accuracy, take statistics, sort by material type and remove flags as needed.
  3. Technical Services will send trucks to Access Services
  4. Access will remove the IN PROCESS status prior to shelving the material

Exceptions

  1. Reference material is delivered to the Reference Assistant
  2. All Archival, Bookroom, and Bingham material will not receive the IN PROCESS status.
