Faculty/Staff
Copy Service
ABOUT COPY SERVICE
This is a fee-based service offered to the faculty and staff
of Oakland University to provide copies of materials owned
by the Kresge Library. The requested items are retrieved from
the stacks and copied.
ELIGIBILITY AND COST
University faculty, staff, graduate students and visiting
scholars with an account number for the billing of interdepartmental
charges are eligible to use the service. The interlibrary
loan office generates monthly reports which the Kresge Library's
business manager then uses to charge the requestor's department
based on the account number supplied at the time of request.
The cost of each request is $2.00 plus 20¢ for each page
copied.
TURNAROUND TIME
Any request found in the stacks will be guaranteed a 48-hour
turnaround. Requests for items not located in the stacks will
be routed to interlibrary loan. Such requests will be governed
by the regular interlibrary loan turnaround time. Workload
and staff availability prevent us from photocopying Eric fiche
longer than 30 pages. The requestor will be informed in that
event.
SUBMISSION of REQUESTS
Only those patrons registered in ILLiad are able to submit
interlibrary loan requests. Registered patrons must submit
requests directly from ILLiad. ILLiad replaces all previous
request forms. For assistance with journal abbreviations consult
the librarians at the Reference Desk.
DELIVERY
All completed requests will be delivered electronically.
Patrons will be notified by email when materials are ready
to be accessed.
COPYRIGHT
The Kresge Library observes the Copyright Law of the United
States (Title 17, United States Code),
which governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions
of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified
in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish
a photocopy or other reproductions. One of the specified conditions
is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for
any purpose other than private study, scholarship or research."
If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy
or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that
user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution
reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if,
in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation
of copyright law.
