Kresge Library in the reference area and we’ll
walk you through the process.

the second floor of Kresge Library for free

with a “Library Coffee House”
from 8am to 7pm.
Also, Thursday, September 2nd from noon to 1pm
join us in recognizing OU faculty for their recent publications.
Meet faculty and staff and enjoy free coffee, pink lemonade
and pastries.
Validate your Spirit ID card before Tuesday, September
7th to enter a drawing for a gift basket
full of great stuff (Spirit Cash, $50
OU Bookstore Gift Certificate, coffee mugs, and other
fun things)! If you’ve already validated your
card you can enter the drawing by filling out a form
available at the Circulation Desk.
All of us at Kresge Library look forward to the start
of the Fall semester. We hope you will stop by and meet
our staff and librarians and see what your library has
to offer!

DATABASES
Mergent
Online is an online database offering
information on U.S. public companies and some international
firms. It contains the complete electronic versions
of the Mergent (formerly Moody’s) Manuals. Mergent
Online is an excellent financial database with a variety
of search options. The financial data for most companies
covers 15 years. It also includes lists of officers,
properties, company histories, and other information
and includes a helpful country information file.
PsycArticles
offers full text articles from 41 psychology journals
with coverage going back to 1985. It includes peer reviewed
professional journals published by the American and
Canadian Psychological Associations and several other
publishers. Links from the PsycINFO database connect
users to the full text PsycArticles.
VIDEO
COLLECTION
The Oakland University video and DVD collection, formerly
housed in Varner, has been relocated to Kresge Library.
Items from the collection must be requested at the Circulation
Desk. Faculty may reserve and pick up materials
for class use. Videos not in circulation to faculty
will be available for viewing in the library's viewing
rooms. Videos are listed in the Voyager
Library Catalog.
SPIRITCA$H
& PRINTWISE DEBUT
Copying and printing items in the library? Beginning
in September you will need to use your Spirit card/Spirit
Ca$h to pay. Just add money to your Spirit card and
use the card reader when printing/copying an item–cost
of a copy with Spirit cash will be 10 cents. Students
will receive 25 free pages for printing in the public
computer labs and the Library.
DONOR
ROOMS IN KRESGE LIBRARY
Many of the rooms in Kresge Library have a bronze plaque
mounted outside them listing the individual(s) who contributed
funds and sponsored the room. Even the planter in front
of the library has a plaque. For a list of the rooms
and the generous donors who contributed to the library
fund you can now consult the Donor
Rooms web site.

Library classes: Faculty
are reminded to contact Frank
Lepkowski, Coordinator of Information Literacy,
(ph:370-2497) to schedule library sessions for their
classes.
Reserve materials: Faculty
who wish to place materials on reserve for fall classes
should submit their requests
to Maurini
Strub (ph. 370-2470), Library Reserves Specialist,
at the Circulation Desk. Getting them in early is important
since the library needs sufficient time for their in-house
processing, and the beginning of each term is an extremely
busy time. Articles for class reading can be made available
through electronic reserves which students can access
via the Voyager library catalog. For more information,
click
here.
KL’s Student Lounge
was renovated and new furniture installed over the summer.
Stop by and check it out during Welcome week.

2004?
