MINUTES OF THE MEETING
of the
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
October 24, 1958
It is recommended that the Board authorize
submission of a request to the Governor, the Department of
Administration, and the legislature of an appropriation for
Michigan State University-Oakland for the fiscal year 1958-59
of $84,150.
On motion by Dr. Smith, seconded by Mr. Brody, it was
voted to approve the above item.
In accordance with the discussion with the Board at the
Gull Lake Conference, Mr. Varner and Mr. May have contacted
the following architects asking them to prepare preliminary
sketches for possible buildings at Michigan State University-Oakland
with the understanding that there is no commitment on the
part of the Board to reimburse them for this preliminary work,
but that it is understood that if the building is eventually
built their firm will be engaged as the architect for the
building:

On motion by Mr. Brody, seconded by Dr. Smith, it was
voted to approve the above item.
Personnel action:
Establishment of a Clerk-Stenographer I position for the
Director of Student Affairs at Michigan State University-Oakland.
