Appointment of William C. Forbes as Associate Professor in the Biology Department at $3,900ftp, effective May 2, 1966 through August 12, 1966.

Appointment of Joel W. Russell as Assistant Professor in the Chemistry Department at $8,000 effective August 15, 1966.

Appointment of Eleutherios N. Botsas as Assistant Professor in Business Administration and Econ. at $10,000, effective August 15, 1966.

Appointment of David Carroll Bricker as Instructor in Education at $8,200 effective August 15, 1966.

Appointment of John H. Langer as Assistant Professor in Education at $10,500 effective August 15, 1966.

Appointment of Gilbert Leroy Wedekind as Assistant Professor in Engineering at $4,185ftp, May 2, 1966 through August 12, 1966.

Appointment of Frederick Allan Hughes as Instructor in English at $7,800 effective August 15, 1966.

Appointment of W. Patrick Strauss as Associate Professor in History at $11,500 effective August 15, 1966.

Appointment of Carmine Rocco Linsalata as Professor in Modern Languages & Literatures at $13,200 effective August 15, 1966.

Appointment of Richard A. Mazzara as Associate Professor in Modern Languages & Literatures at $11,500 effective August 15, 1966.

Appointment of Alan L. Seltzer as Instructor in Political Science Department at $8,000 effective August 15, 1966.

Transfer for Frederick W. Obear from Assistant Professor Chemistry, Dean of Freshmen, and Assistant Provost to Assistant Professor Chemistry and Assistant Provost, at $13,300 effective May 1, 1966.

Report of the death of Mary L. White, Instructor in Psychology, on April 23, 1966. Miss White was born on February 11, 1938, and had been a member of the staff since August 15, 1964.

Recommendations from the Director of Personnel, as follows:

Reclassify a Departmental Secretary V to a Senior Departmental Secretary VII position in English.
Establish a Director of Grounds and Landscaping AP-VI position in the Physical Plant Department.

At the April Trustees' meeting, additional payments in the total amount of $114,699 to regular staff members for the third semester were approved. This figure should now be corrected to $117,058.50.

Gifts and grants:

Grants as follows to be used for scholarship purposes:

$165 from the American Business Women's Association of Clawson for the Awards Account.

$68 from John Taylor of Rochester for account 32-3228.

$1,020 from The Wayne Oakland Bank of Royal Oak for account 32-3229.

For the Restricted Scholarship Account, 32-3220:

$750 from Boice Builders Supply, Inc., of Pontiac
$656 from The Greater Detroit Chevrolet Dealers of Livonia
$300 from Consumers Power Company of Pontiac

Grant of $3,500 from the Public Health Service of Bethesda, Maryland, to be used under the direction of William Schlicht in Psychology for research on gestural cues as determinants of behavior.

Grant of $5,100 from the National Science Foundation to be used under the direction of Jesse R. Pitts in Sociology for a conference on the sociology of the intellectual.(p.237)

Grants as follows to be used under the direction of Chancellor Varner for the Meadow Brook Music Festival:

$50 from Mr. and Mrs. Peter B. Clark of Grosse Pointe
$100 from Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Du Brul of Lake Orion
$100 from the Ford Motor Company Fund of Dearborn
$50 from Mr. and Mrs. Francis C. McMath of Birmingham
