Parking/Access during Campus Construction
During the ongoing campus construction project to improve Oakland University’s water distribution system, access to the library can be challenging. Discovering a convenient route for people with disabilities can be even more daunting. The closest parking to the library is south of the building in Lots 32, 34, 36, 37, and 38. However, these lots currently have no direct access to the library. You can park in the lots, enter Dodge Hall at one of its East entrances, go through Dodge Hall, up a floor, and exit out one of Dodge Hall's North exits to get onto the walking path to Kresge Library. However, Oakland University's Disability Support Services (DSS) does not designate the direct path from there to Kresge Library as accessible. Instead, you must circle around the entire quad, west, then north, then back east, to get to the library. This is rather inconvenient, and DSS suggest parking in lots 1, 2, 18 or 43 instead (campus map).
