Dr. Leroy Hood receives the Oakland University Distinguished
Biomedical Science Achievement Award
Please
join Oakland University in welcoming Dr.
Leroy Hood to our campus Tuesday April
5, 2005 starting at 4 pm in the Oakland
Center Banquet Rooms (campus
map). The afternoon will begin with Dr.
Hood presenting a lecture on Systems
Biology: Changing Biology, Medicine and Society.
During his presentation, Dr. Hood will discuss
systems biology, the idea that one can study biological
systems by delineating the relationships of all
their component elements and understanding the
resulting systems properties. He will address the
profound change systems biology will engender in
medicine - moving society toward a predictive,
preventive and personalized medicine. The lecture
will be followed by a reception from 5:30 - 6:30
pm. This event is free and open to the public.
Reserve your tickets seats by phone at
(248) 370-4407. For further information please
