  • Company Dossier via LexisNexis allows you to look at a Snapshot of information. Each section in the dossier contains summary data and a link to its sources. Please follow the link to each source to find more details.
  • Business Source Premier - Enhanced Search includes many types of full-text sources, including articles, Datamonitor industry analyses, company overviews, country profiles and market research information.
  • Mergent - US and international public companies. Covers up to 15 years of financial data, including annual reports in pdf format and SEC filings. Log off after using!
  • Hoover's Handbook of World Business -
    Profiles of 300 of some of the most important global companies. Includes a list of non-US company stocks that are traded on US exchanges.

  • Standard & Poor's Industry Surveys

  • Global Market Information Database -
    International socioconomic data, including industry statistics and country information.
  • Export.Gov
    (requires free registration - several hours for confirmation) Includes market information ("market research" - Market Research Library), industry data ("by industry"), tariff rates ("Find Tariff Rates"), "international logistics," etc.
  • STAT-USA
    (2 simultaneous on campus users only; logoff after using!)
    Under GLOBUS and NTDB, under the "Market and Country Research" section it includes the "Industry Sector Analysis Reports." GLOBUS/NTDB also includes links to Background Notes, Country Commercial Guides, and the Market Research Library.
  • USA Trade Online
    (only 2 simultaneous on campus users only; logoff after using!)
    Specific U.S. export and import information on more than 18,000 commodities world wide. Remember that export and import are always as they relate to the U.S.

  • Country Commercial Guides (also in STAT-USA)
    from the Market Research Library of the US Commercial Service. On search form select a country in the drop down menu. The Country Commercial Guide will be the first result.
  • International Data Base (from the US Census Bureau) -
    Basic demographic data on foreign countries.
  • Europa World Year Book
    Very up-to-date, new volume annually; includes recent history, economic affairs, education, statistics, etc.

  • CIA World Factbook
  • Organisation for Economic Co-Operation & Development -
    Economic surveys and other economic reports for the 30 member countries - and some on other countries also.

  • Countries and Their Cultures - includes sections on history and ethnic relations, economy, political life, gender roles.

Book Catalogs

  • Library Catalog
    Use the catalog to find books we have in the Kresge Library. Also use the catalog to see if we have access to a particular journal title on-line or in print.
