ICPSR is an abbreviation for Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research. ICPSR is part of the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan.
The basic search feature on the ICPSR homepage searches the ICPSR website and data holdings by default. To search for datasets, deselect the website box.
The advanced search feature allows the user to search for datasets using more options. For example, users can search words or phrases in the title, summary, or sampling description.
The Bibliography of Data-Related Literature is a searchable database that contains over 41,000 citations of known published and unpublished works resulting from analyses of data held in the ICPSR archive.
This is a very handy guide for using the ICPSR website. Topics include finding data, accessing data, downloading, and analyzing data using statistical software. This is a very useful website; first time users will want to visit the Data Use Tutorial.
These useful tutorials will help you to get set-up files to work in Windows and to read data into SPSS or SAS.
A convenient guide to terms and phrases used for social science data analysis.
Designed for faculty to use for in-class demonstrations or to assign as supplemental activities for giving students greater exposure to concepts.
Before using ICPSR data, users must read and agree to the Responsible Use Statement.

The purpose of this archive is to provide data resources for the comparative analysis of issues affecting racial and ethnic minority populations in the United States
The goal of the archive is to provide ready access to substance abuse and mental health research data and to promote the sharing of these data among researchers, academics, policymakers, service providers, and others.
One of the newer archives provided by ICPSR.
