Good general all purpose database, contains articles from a large variety of subject areas. Includes articles from scholarly journals and popular magazines. All full text
Academic OneFile
Good general purpose database, contains articles from a large variety of subject areas. Includes articles from scholarly journals and popular magazines. Lots of full text.
Lexis-Nexis
Excellent place to find current newspaper articles. Indexes full-text articles for most major papers. Follow these steps to locate articles from major papers in the US.
- Click on Power Search
- Under Select Sources select U.S. Newspapers & Wires
- Enter your search keywords using search connectors
- Limit by date to reduce results
Good resource for opinions and checking out both sides of controversial issues.
Find a database from these lists to search on your topic of choice for your library research homework assignment.
Google Scholar
You can go into the preferences for scholar and set the Kresge Library as your proxy library, to get access from off-campus. Also, you can export from Scholar into RefWorks.
