Use the catalog to find books we have in the Kresge Library. Also use the catalog to see if we have access to a particular journal title on-line or in print.
Books about an author, e.g. biographies, may provide valuable information as to the location of the author's archival and manuscript collections.
Keywords to use when searching for primary sources include: manuscripts, sources, correspondence, letters, diaries, journals.
A catalog of other libraries holdings, mainly U.S. but includes other countries. Good source for manuscript and primary sources.
National Union Catalog of Manuscript Collections (NUCMC) Collections cataloged after 1986 are listed in the WorldCat. Records cataloged from 1959-1985 are listed in print volumes that are found in the Reference Collection, Z 6620.U5 N3.
Google your author's name + manuscripts, archives, papers, letters, etc. For example A. R. Ammons papers turns up at least two different manuscript collections.
