Use the Library Catalog to find books and journals, both print and online. For example, Journal of research in childhood education is available on the 4th floor under the call number LB 1028 .J69. In addition, this journal is available online through Academic OneFile.

Indexes and Article Databases

1. ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) - A good place to find articles and reports in all aspects of education.
2. PsycINFO & PsycArticles - These two databases contain many scholarly items on any topic related to childhood development.
3. Psychology: SAGE Full-Text - This database contains full-text access to 34 psychology journals including Clinical Child Psychology and Psychiatry.
   
4. Academic OneFile - Because of its size and breadth, Academic OneFile is the best place to go if you only need a few good articles. This huge database contains many scholarly articles.
5. Education:SAGE Full-Text - Here you'll find the contents of 36 full-text journals from SAGE including the American Educational Research Journal.
6. Dissertation Abstracts - Find out if there are any dissertations written on your topic!
7. JSTOR & Project MUSE - These two are great collections of scholarly, full-image articles.
8. Ulrich's Periodicals Directory - This database will help you determine whether a journal title is peer-reviewed.
9. New York Times Historical Collection (1851-2003) - Here you'll find the full-image of the New York Times. Remarkable!
10. Cambridge Encyclopedia of Child Development (2005) - Find information on developmental theories and current research on all aspects of child development and parenting.
