To Find Books:

• First, search Voyager using a Boolean keyword strategy like the following:

Industrial and (health or safety or hygiene)

Radiat? and worker?

Pay close attention to the subject headings that you find in the records produced by your keyword searches, e.g. Medicine, Industrial; Industrial psychiatry.   These may generate even more results for you.   Also, to find publications by professional organizations and governmental agencies, search them as corporate authors.  An author search on United States. Occupational Safety and Health Administration will yield publications by OSHA. 

• To widen your search, use a similar strategy in WorldCat, or other library catalogs.
• Register for ILLIAD in order to be able to request books on ILL.

To Find Journal Articles:

• ABI/Inform is an outstanding resource for articles in all business areas including occupational health, safety management, and the like; it has extensive full-text holdings of journals in the field.
• Good multi-disciplinary databases that may offer useful full-text articles include:   Health Reference Center Academic , OneFile and Expanded Academic Index in InfoTrac; and WilsonSelectPlus and Periodicals Abstracts, in FirstSearch.
• For medical literature of importance to industrial health and safety, especially toxicology, Medline in FirstSearch is the database of choice.
• In order to access the copious and complex literature of Federal government regulations, you can search the full text of the Federal Register and Code of Federal Regulations by using the Legal Research forms of Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe.
