Class
Textbooks
As a rule, the library does not purchase the textbooks that are required for classes offered at Oakland University. However, we would like to do our best to help you acquire the materials you need. Here are some useful tips and links.
First, stop by the official Oakland University Book Store to find out what books you need for each class. They will usually have your textbook in stock for any classes offered this semester. However, if they are currently out of stock, or you believe you may want to purchase or borrow the book from someone else, then you should take a note for three crucial pieces of information: the title of each book, the name of the lead author/editor, and the ISBN number (if possible). The ISBN number is usually located inside the book on the back of the title page. ISBNs are great because they are linked to that particular edition of a book, and provide the quickest way to search for it online. If you can't get the ISBN, note the edition or publication year of the text. Armed with this information, you can check the following sources to find your books:
