Kresge Library - A teaching library with an oustanding student-centered information literacy program
Borrowing directly from other libraries

The Oakland University Kresge Library has made reciprocal borrowing arrangements with the following libraries so that Oakland students, staff, and faculty may borrow materials directly from them. There are other libraries which OU students, staff, and faculty may check out materials directly from, but you will need to stop by the Oakland University Kresge Library Reference Desk to pick up an InfoPass to use them. Stop by or call the Reference Desk at (248) 370-4426 for more information on acquiring and using an InfoPass. Materials borrowed MUST be returned directly to the lending library. If you fail to return materials borrowed from these libraries, your library privileges will be blocked, and a hold will be placed on your academic records at Oakland University.

In addition to these, many public and academic libraries in the state participate in the Michicard program, which allows you to check out book (and sometimes, other materials) from any participating library, as long as your home library is also a participant. Check the list of participating Michicard libraries to see if your local public library participates. If so, stop by and ask for your Michicard or Michicard sticker, and then take that with you to any other participating library to check out materials (for free). For more information, see the michigan.gov site about the Michicard Program (list of particpating Michicard Libraries).
