Prepare for Your Visit

to the Archives and Special Collections

All OU-affiliated individuals and the general public have access to the collections and services of Archives and Special Collections.

To guarantee fast and convenient access, please make an appointment through the schedule a visit form.

We are happy to accommodate appointments with researchers at any time during the week, 8:30am to 4:30pm. Mornings are preferred. Drop-ins will be accommodated whenever possible but will not be guaranteed service.

The Archives and Special Collections Reading Room is located in room 105 on the first floor of Kresge Library.

To prepare for your visit, review and sign the Archives Use form.

Remember:

• For the Archives Reading Room, all patrons visiting in person must provide a form of valid photographic identification (e.g., student ID, driver's license, or passport).
• No food or drinks are allowed in the Special Collections Room or Archives Reading Room.
• Patrons do not have access to the stacks. Archives staff will bring materials to the reading room and will help patrons while they use the materials. Materials should never leave the Archives.
• Patrons are allowed to use their own cameras to make copies of the materials, provided they have read and signed the Archives Use form. Copies are intended for personal research only and cannot be published in print or online without the written consent of the copyright holder.

Note: users of the Gaylor Collection, located in the Special Collections Room, should refer to the Special Collections Room policy.
